Once upon a time, in 1705, there was the first mention of the family vineyard St. Zehetbauer, founded by Georg Zehetbauer, who laid the cornerstone for the generations to come.

His great-great-grandson, Stefan Zehetbauer, produces wine in the same cellars that have been in use since 1850, maintaining our tradition as the 10th generation. He develops and modernizes not only the vineyard but also the production, creating and producing only the finest wines.

Up to the present day, the founding year of the vineyard is reflected on May 17, 2009, when wine enthusiast Pavol Král from Slovakia met the experienced winemaker, Austrian Stefan Zehetbauer, to jointly create a new wine collection under the Kral Steffanus brand.
The brand was created by symbolically combining the surname Král with the name Stefan. At the same time, the name carries additional symbolism – Saint King Stephen I, or Stephen the Great, was the first king of Hungary at a time when Slovakia and Austria were still part of the same monarchy.
